Arab Muslim community leaders in the greater Detroit area are angry at Joe Biden's support for Israel in the war with Hamas and his opposition to a ceasefire.

In a surprising turn of events, Democratic Representative Alabas Farhat from Michigan, along with Arab Muslim community leaders in the greater Detroit area, declined an invitation for a "meet and greet" with President Joe Biden. Their refusal stems from President Biden's stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict and his opposition to a ceasefire.

Representative Farhat expressed a sense of betrayal, emphasizing that many in the Arab Muslim community believed Biden was a more humane alternative to Trump. The discontent within the community has escalated to the point where an "Abandon Biden" initiative is gaining traction, urging voters to choose "uncommitted" in the upcoming Democratic primaries.

This dissatisfaction poses a serious threat to Biden's chances of re-election, especially in crucial swing states like Michigan. A recent survey by Bloomberg News and Morning Consult indicated that Donald Trump is leading in key swing states, including Michigan.

Michigan, with one of the largest Arab American and Muslim populations in the U.S., could prove challenging for Biden. The sentiment against him is echoed at the Islamic Center of Detroit, where Imam Imran Salha criticized Biden for alleged support of genocide against Palestinians.

President Biden's response, including an executive order widening sanctions against Israeli settlers, may not be sufficient to appease the Muslim community in Michigan. Representative Farhat emphasizes the need for a ceasefire and warns that failure to address these concerns seriously could jeopardize Biden's standing in the swing state.

The challenge for Biden lies in balancing the politics of industrial disputes with the pressing concerns of the Arab Muslim community in Michigan, a state where support is crucial for his re-election bid.
