Actress Shilpa Shetty had previously refused to comment on the ongoing pornography case against her husband Raj Kundra but has recently issued an official statement. The actress shared the statement on her social media pages and various platforms.
Shilpa Shetty Kundra stated "the last few days have been challenging on all fronts. There were a lot of rumours and accusations, many unjustified accusations have been made against me by the media, there were a lot of trolling and questions that were asked not only to me but also to my family. As a family, we have taken all available remedies. To reiterate my philosophy that celebrities should never, tried in the court of media."

"I ask you as a mother to respect our privacy for the sake of my children and not to comment on this half-baked information and verify the truthfulness of it... I am a proud, law-abiding Indian citizen and have been a hard-working professional for 29 years. People have put their trust in me and I have not let anyone down. I ask you all to respect my families and my right to privacy. We deserve neither the media nor a trial. The law should take its course and do what it has to do.
Shilpa Shetty has appealed to the Bombay Supreme Court to prevent various media organisations and social media platforms from publishing false, malicious and defamatory content in connection with her husband's arrest. Shetty is also seeking damages of Rs.
Mumbai Crime Branch has said the actress has not be acquitted in the pornography racketeering case and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, remains the main defendant.
Kundra was arrested on July 19 for producing and distributing pornography. He is currently in custody for 14 days awaiting further investigation and adjudication.
