The first Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 1990, when 20 million people in America celebrated in local lecture halls to fulfill their demand for a healthy and sustainable environment. #earthday

On April 22, 1990, 20 million people took to the streets for the first Earth Day, which is still one of the most successful environmental events in the history of the USA and the second-largest in the world. 

By mobilizing more than 200 million people from 141 countries and lifting environmental status on the world stage, Earth Day 1990 activities gave a huge boost to recycling efforts worldwide and helped create a global network of recycling and recycling organizations - centered organizations such as the International Recycling Alliance (IRA) and the European Union (EU), as well as a number of other organizations in the United States and around the world. Earth Day events and speeches have been held in most EU countries and in 2006 EarthDay was extended to Europe. Earth Day 1990 helped pave the way for a global movement towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly environment and gave a huge boost to recycling efforts worldwide. #recycle





This year Earth Day is a global celebration of recycling, education, and teaching about the importance of the environment and its role in the global economy. There have been several events in Washington, D.C., New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, New Jersey, and other cities. In the 1990s, two separate groups were formed to sponsor Earth Day events: the Environmental Defense Fund (EDN) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The declaration was endorsed and spoken at an Environmental Rights Day conference by former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The Earth Day Network works with Keep America Beautiful, a global environmental organization with more than 1.5 million members. Earth Day 20 Foundation, which was founded in cooperation with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other environmental organizations and organized the first-ever Environmental Day of Action (EDA) on Earth Day 1990 in Washington, D.C.

The global show will begin at 12: 00 CEST on Thursday and will run parallel to the Biden administration's World Climate Summit, which is also scheduled to coincide with Earth Day. This year's Earth Day 2021 event will be the United Nations Climate Summit in New York City, which will take place from April 22-23, hosted by US President Joe Biden. The Summit brings together more than 1000 Heads of State and Government from around the world.

The theme focuses on new green technologies and innovative thinking that, according to the Earth Day Network, can restore the world's ecosystems. The global holiday called Earth Day was first introduced by John McConnell (# 145) at the UNESCO Environmental Conference in 1969 as a global "holiday" called "Earth Day." 

The first Earth Day took place on April 22, 1970, when Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin separately called on Americans to participate in a grassroots demonstration held in Washington, D.C. in response to the 1970 Clean Air Act of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF). Environmental Action Plan (DEF). 

The first Earth Day was also held on March 29, 1971, in New York City, New Jersey, and on March 31, 1972, in Los Angeles, California, as part of the National Day of Action against the War on Terror, but also in Chicago, Illinois, on April 23, 1973, and April 25, 1974.
